Configure Database Connection String

This section describes the procedure to update the SQL Server connection settings when you migrate to a new database.

Before changing the database connection, ensure the following:

• Make sure that you have a backup of the existing database connection. For more information, see Backup Innowera Control Panel Database.
• Make sure that you have access to the Innowera Control Panel Database Configuration tool available at the following location:<installation_folder>\Innowera\Control Panel Service.

Note: When you update the database connection setting of the Innowera Control Panel, the ICPapp and CommonSetting configuration files of the application are updated by replacing the existing files in the Innowera Control Panel installation folder. If you do not have access to the Innowera Control Panel installation folder, the ICPapp or CommonSetting configuration files will be saved on the desktop. In such cases, you can copy the files from the desktop and replace with the existing files in the respective folders.
Following are the default locations of ICPapp and CommonSetting configuration files:
ICPapp: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\InnoweraControlPanel
CommonSetting: C:\Program Files(x86)\Innowera\Control Panel Service
