Transfer or Remove Existing License

Note: This section is valid only if you are using the legacy license model.

This section explains how to transfer or remove the Process Runner Excel Add-in license.

Typically, Process Runner Excel Add-in licenses have a dedicated user or system, and you cannot transfer it to another user or system. However, with special instructions from insightsoftware, or if you purchase transferable licenses, you can transfer a license from:

• User to user
• System to System

The license transfer is a two-step process:

1. Deactivate license on Old System.
2. Activate License on a New System.

Caution: Do not proceed with the license transfer if the license is Floating, Concurrent, or Named. In such a case, we recommend you contact your internal license manager.

Deactivate license on Old System

To deactivate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license,

1. In Microsoft Excel, go to Process Runner > About > Manage License. The License Information dialog appears.

   

2. Select Transfer License > Next. The License transfer dialog appears.
3. In the License transfer dialog, perform the following steps:
   1. To ensure that the Process Runner Excel Add-in application is not accidentally removed, enter the captcha rEmoVE and your password.

      Note: For the password, send an email to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.com along with a screenshot of Help > About. Also, the passwords are case-sensitive.

   2. Select Confirm and proceed transfer checkbox.
4. Select Next. The Product license transfer confirmation dialog appears.
5. Select the Confirm above information and transfer product license checkbox, and select Finish. The Process Runner Excel Add-in license is deactivated.

Manual Deactivation

This section explains how to manually deactivate the Process Runner Excel Add-in from your system.

Before you manually deactivate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license, ensure that you do the following:

• Download LicenseRemoval.zip from http://help.innowera.net/docs/LicenseRemoval.zip.
• Extract the file and rename Innowera License Removal.e1e to Innowera License Removal.exe.

Note: To completely deactivate an insightsoftware license from an existing system, uninstalling Process Runner Excel Add-in is not enough. You must perform the steps in this section to get the deactivation confirmation code. This code is essential for successful license transfer or removal; otherwise, the license is considered to be in use.

To manually deactivate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license,

1. Run Innowera License Removal.exe. The Remove License dialog appears.
2. Select Yes. The Remove License (Process Runner) – Confirmation dialog appears.
3. To ensure that you are not removing Process Runner Excel Add-inaccidentally, enter the captcha rEmoVE in the box and your password. Select OK.

   Note: For the password, send an email to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.com with a screenshot of Help > About. The password is case-sensitive.

   After the deactivation of the license, on the Remove License dialog, you get a license removal confirmation key.

4. Select Copy Key, paste the Process Runner Excel Add-in license key in an email, and send it to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.com.
5. Select Close to exit from the license removal dialog.

To complete the transfer of the license, after you deactivate your license, you must send an email to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.com with a screenshot of Help > About of the Process Runner Excel Add-in installed on the new system and the license that you have deactivated. insightsoftware support resets the activation parameters, such as the system ID and user ID in the license, after which you can activate the same in the new system.

Activate License on a New System

After you successfully deactivate your license from the old system, you must activate the license on the new system. For information about activating a Process Runner Excel Add-in license on a new system, see Activate License.
