Activate License

Note: This section is valid only if you are using the legacy license model.

This section explains how to activate your Process Runner Excel Add-in license.

You can activate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license in one of the following ways:

• Online License Activation
• Offline License Activation
• Manual License Activation

Online License Activation

This section explains how to activate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license online.

Activate License Using Manage License Option

This section explains how to activate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license through the Manage License option in the application.

To activate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license,

1. In Microsoft Excel, go to Process Runner >Help > Manage License. The License Information dialog appears.

   

2. Select Activate License and enter the following information:
   • Display Name: Enter the name of the user. You can edit the user name.
   • License Key: Enter the license key.
3. Select Next. A dialog appears with a confirmation of license activation.

Activate Existing Expired License

This section explains how to activate an existing expired Process Runner Excel Add-in license.

To activate the existing expired Process Runner Excel Add-in license key,

1. In Microsoft Excel, go to Process Runner > About. The About dialog appears.
2. Select Manage License. The License Information dialog appears with the following information:
   • Display Name: The name of the Process Runner Excel Add-in user. You can edit the user name.
   • License Key: The license key of the user.
3. Select Next. The Product license activation confirmation dialog appears.
4. Select the Confirm above information and activate product license checkbox, and select Finish.
5. Select OK. The existing Process Runner Excel Add-in license is extended.

Change or Activate a New License

This section explains how to activate a new Process Runner Excel Add-in license when the previous one expires.

To change or activate the new Process Runner Excel Add-in license,

1. In Microsoft Excel, go to Process Runner > About > Manage License. The License Information dialog appears.
2. Update the following license information:
   • Display Name: Enter the name of the user. You can edit the user name.
   • License Key: Enter the license key.
3. Select Next. The Product license activation confirmation dialog appears.
4. Select the Confirm above information and activate product license checkbox, and select Finish.
5. Select OK. The new Process Runner Excel Add-in license key is activated.

Offline License Activation

This section explains how to activate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license offline.

To activate the Process Runner Excel Add-in license offline,

1. In Microsoft Excel, go to Process Runner > About > Manage License. The License Information dialog appears.
2. Select Activate License by Email, and enter the following information:
   • Display Name: Enter the name of the user. You can edit the user name.
   • License Key: Enter the license key.

   

3. Select Next. The Offline activation dialog appears with offline activation steps.
4. Select OK. The Offline License Activation dialog appears.
5. Enter your details, upload the LicInfoToUpload.xml file, enter the captcha, and select Submit. You will receive a license activation request notification to the email address that you provided. You will also receive an email with the Process Runner Excel Add-in license and the installation steps.
6. Save the license on your system and perform the license installation steps explained in the email.

Manual License Activation

When the license is sent, you get instructions on how to manually activate the license. You must copy the .license file to the My Documents\Innowera\Lic XL folder. Ensure that there is no other file in this folder. After installing the license, go to the Process Runner tab in Excel to verify that the new license file is being used.

You can also load the license using the Load License option.

1. In Microsoft Excel, go to Process Runner > Help > About. The About dialog appears.
2. Select Load License to load the Process Runner Excel Add-in license.
