File Sharing Violation

Symptom

When you try to open, run, or save a Process file, the following error appeared:

X-103: There is a file sharing violation. A different process might be using the file.

Cause

The error occurs when the Log_Stat.ils file located in My Documents\Innowera\Other is missing or corrupted.

Solution

Method 1: Create a New Log_Stat.ils File

1. Close all instances of Process Runner and Microsoft Excel using the Details tab in Task Manager.
2. Open Process Runner.
3. On the Home tab, select Log. The Log window appears.
4. Select New File, and then select Yes.
5. Try to record or execute the process file to verify whether the error is resolved.

Method 2: Rename the Other Folder

1. Close all instances of Process Runner and Microsoft Excel using the Details tab in Task Manager.
2. Open File Explorer and navigate to My Documents\Innowera
3. Rename the Other folder to Other_Backup.
4. Try to record or execute the process file to verify whether the error is resolved.
