Total Field Width Exceeding 512 Length

Symptom

When you try run a Data Extractor Process file using the standard RFM methods, an error message similar to the following is displayed.

Total field width exceeding 512 length. Do you want Process Runner to disable some field(s) and continue to run?

Cause

This problem occurs when the field value exceeds length limit that is 512 characters.

Solution

To resolve this issue, perform any one of the following:

• Deactivate the fields that are not required and run the Process file.
• Download the same table twice (or more) and join them using the Process Connection functionality. For more information, see Process Connection.
• Download and install the Data Extractor ABAP Add-On package. For further assistance, please create a support case on Salesforce.
• Download and apply SAP OSS Note 758278.
