Control Panel Web Service Access Errors

Symptom

Sometimes, while connection to Control Panel, you may run into one of the following error messages.

  • The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found

    Innowera Control Panel webservice is not accessible.

    This may be due to incorrect url or credentials for the webservice, firewall exception, web service maybe down etc.

    The server returned message as: The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

    Cause

    This problem occurs when the server URL or the credentials are incorrect.

    Solution

    Verify the server URL entered. The URL should contain only domain name and nothing should not be mentioned at the end of the URL.

  • The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized

    Innowera Control Panel webservice is not accessible.

    This may be due to incorrect url or credentials for the webservice, firewall exception, web service maybe down etc.

    The server returned message as: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

    Cause

    This problem occurs when you select Windows Authentication mode and enter invalid user name and password.

    Solution

    Use valid credentials and ensure that there is no typographical error.

  • Unable to connect to the remote server

    Innowera Control Panel webservice is not accessible.

    This may be due to incorrect url or credentials for the webservice, firewall exception, web service maybe down etc.

    The server returned message as: Unable to connect to the remote server.

    Cause

    This problem occurs when the Control Panel is not installed on the instance used to configure.

    Solution

    Contact your system administrator and update the URL with the server address where the Control Panel is installed. Verify if you are able to connect to web service successfully.

  • The operation has timed out

    Innowera Control Panel webservice is not accessible.

    This may be due to incorrect url or credentials for the webservice, firewall exception, web service maybe down etc.

    The server returned message as: The operation has timed out.

    Cause

    This problem occurs when the timeout period has elapsed prior to completion of the operation due to speed limit, or the server is not responding.

    Solution

    Contact your system administrator to ensure that network related problems, if any, are addressed and you can access the URL. Configure the firewall to permit access and verify that you are able to connect to the web service successfully.
