Install Web and Mobile Server

This section explains how to install Innowera Web and Mobile Server (Web and Mobile Server).

Prerequisites

  • Review the system requirements in Innowera Web and Mobile Server System Requirements, and make sure that your setup meets the minimum requirements.
  • Make sure that you have configured the required settings to enable 32-bit applications to run on 64-bit IIS.
  • Verify that the following options are selected in Server Manager for your version of IIS.  If other IIS components are enabled, you do not have to disable them.
  • Common HTTP Features: Default Document, Directory Browsing, HTTP Errors, Static Content
  • Health and Diagnostics: HTTP Logging
  • Performance: Static Content Compression
  • Security: Request Filtering, Windows Authentication
  • Application Development: .NET Extensibility 4.7 for 2019 (.NET Extensibility 4.6 for 2016, and .NET Extensibility 4.5 for 2012 or 2012 R2), ASP .NET 4.7 (ASP .NET 4.6 for 2016, and ASP .NET 4.5 for 2012 or 2012 R2), ISAPI Extensions, and ISAPI Filters
  • Management Tools: IIS Management Console
  • IIS 6 Management Compatibility: IIS 6 Metabase compatibility

For more information about how to enable and configure IIS, see Configure IIS.

To install Web and Mobile Server,

  1. Double-click InnoweraWMSSetup.exe. The Welcome to the Innowera EShare Setup Wizard page appears.
  2. Select Next. The Select Installation Address page appears.
  3. Select any Site and Virtual directory. However, we recommend Default Web Site and InnoweraWMS.

Note: The Application Pool you select during installation is ignored because a new application pool is created with the required settings if it does not already exist, and then set for Web and Mobile Server.

  4. Select Next to continue.
  5. After the successful installation of Innowera EShare, select Close to exit the wizard. Alternatively, you can select Launch IWMS Database & Service Configuration Tool and select Close to configure the database details.
  6. In the Innowera Web & Mobile Database SetUp window, enter the following details:
    • Server: Indicates the IP address or the server name where the database is present.
    • Database: Indicates the name of the database.
    • Authentication: Indicates the authentication mode used to connect to the database. SQL Server Authentication appears by default. If you are using SQL Server Authentication, user name and password is required. If you are using Windows Authentication, you must have the environment set up accordingly.
    • Map Database: Indicates the existing database that can be mapped to the Web and Mobile Server application.

Note: For information about the required permissions, see Permissions Required for SQL Server Users.

  7. Select Create/ Modify Database. A message appears to indicate that the Web and Mobile Server database is successfully created.

Note: Web and Mobile Server can be installed on multiple servers pointing to a single Web and Mobile Server database created during the Web and Mobile Server setup on the main server. When the process files are published on one of the Web and Mobile servers, the physical files are stored on the server directory. Therefore, to make the other Web and Mobile servers pointing to the same database work properly, they should have these files in their server directory too. These published process files must be manually copied to every Web and Mobile Server which use the same Web and Mobile Server database.

  8. The following screenshot indicates that the database has been created successfully.
  9. To access Innowera Web and Mobile Server web application, open a web browser, and type http://<localhost>/InnoweraWMS/Innowera/Default.aspx, and enter the Web and Mobile Server logon credentials. The default credentials are as follows:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: innowera1

Note: You can change the password from User Profile in Innowera Web and Mobile Server. For more information about User Profile, see Innowera Web and Mobile Server Help.

  10. Optionally, you can sign in to Web and Mobile Server as a Windows authenticated user by using your Window's domain credentials, if the Windows Authentication is enabled at the authentication settings of Web and Mobile Server in IIS. The following Web and Mobile Server page appears when you have Windows authentication enabled.
