Transfer or Remove License
Note: This section is valid only if you are using the legacy license model.
Typically, Process Runner licenses have a dedicated user or system, and you cannot transfer them to another user or system. However, with special instructions from insightsoftware, or if you purchase transferable licenses, you can transfer the license from:
- User to user
- System to system
The license transfer is a two-step process:
Caution: Do not proceed with the license transfer if the license is Floating, Concurrent, or Named. In such a case, we recommend you contact your internal license manager.
Remove or Deactivate License on Old System
You can remove or deactivate the license either online or manually.
Remove or Deactivate License Online
This section explains how to deactivate or remove Process Runner license from an old system.
To deactivate the Process Runner license,
- Open Process Runner.
- Select HELP > Manage License. The License Activation dialog appears.
- Select the Deactivate Online option and select Next. A dialog appears for you to confirm the removal of the Process Runner license from the system.
- Select Yes. The Remove License dialog appears.
- To ensure that you are not removing Process Runner accidentally, enter the captcha
rEmoVEin the box and your password.Note: For the password, send an email to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.com along with a screenshot of the Help > About section. The password is case-sensitive.
- Enter the password that you have received from insightsoftware, and select OK. The Remove License dialog appears to confirm the license deactivation.
- Select Yes, select the Confirm above information and deactivate product license checkbox, and select Finish. The Product Activation dialog appears.
- Select OK. The Process Runner application is deactivated.
You can manually deactivate Process Runner if you have trouble deactivating Process Runner online.
Manual Deactivation
This section explains how to manually deactivate Process Runner on your old system.
Prerequisites
- Download the
LicenseRemoval.zipcompressed folder from
http://help.innowera.net/docs/LicenseRemoval.zip and extract the contents of the file. - Rename
Innowera License Removal.e1etoInnowera License Removal.exe.
Note: To completely deactivate the insightsoftware license from an existing system, uninstalling Process Runner is not enough. You must perform the steps in this section to get the deactivation confirmation code. This code is essential for a successful license transfer or removal. Otherwise, the license is considered to be in use.
To manually deactivate the Process Runner license,
- Run
Innowera License Removal.exe. The Remove License dialog appears. - Select Yes. The Remove License (Process Runner) – Confirmation dialog appears.
- To ensure that Process Runner is not accidentally removed from your system, enter the captcha
rEmoVEin the box and your password. Select OK.Note: For the password, send an email to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.com along with a screenshot of the Help > About section. The password is case-sensitive.
After the deactivation of the license, on the Remove License dialog, you get a license removal confirmation key.
- Select Copy Key, paste the Process Runner license key in an email, and send it to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.com.
- Select Close to exit from Process Runner.
Activate License on a New System
This section explains how to activate a license that you have transferred from an old system to a new system.
- Install the required version of Process Runner on your new system if your system does not have the application. For more information about installing Process Runner, see Install Process Runner.
- Activate the Process Runner license on your new system. For more information about activating the Process Runner license, see Activate License.
- Send an email to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.com with a screenshot of the Help > About section of Process Runner installed on the new system and the license details that you have deactivated to transfer it to the new system.
insightsoftware support resets the activation parameters, such as the system ID and user ID in the Process Runner license, after which you can activate the license on the new system.

Note: When you download the Process Runner setup from the insightsoftware web page after a license transfer or removal, you must provide your email address and mention the reason as license transfer or removal.
