Activate License

Note: This section is valid only if you are using the legacy license model.

This section explains how to activate Process Runner DB in your system. By default, when you download and install Process Runner DB, a demo version of the application is installed. You must activate the license key to use all the functionalities of the product.

You can activate the Process Runner DB license in one of the following ways:

• Online License Activation
• Offline License Activation
• Manual License Activation

Online License Activation

This section explains the ways to activate the Process Runner DB license online.

The Process Runner DB license can be activated by the following methods:

• Activate the license through splash screen
• Activate the license through manage license option
• Activate expired license (You can activate an expired license either by extending the existing license or by activating a new license.)

Activate Process Runner DB License Through Splash Screen

This section explains how to activate the Process Runner DB license through splash screen.

To activate the Process Runner DB license through the splash screen,

1. Open Process Runner DB. The Process Runner DB splash screen appears.

   

2. Select ACTIVATE PRODUCT. The License Activation dialog appears.

   

3. Select Activate Online, and enter the following information:
• Company Name: Enter the name of your company.
• Display Name: Enter the name of the user.
• License Key: Enter the license key.
4. Select Next. The license details appear in the License Activation dialog.
5. Confirm the license details and select the Confirm above information and activate product license checkbox.
6. Select Finish. The Product Activation dialog is appears and the application restarts.

Activate Process Runner DB License Through Manage License Option

This section explains how to activate the Process Runner DB license through the Manage License option of the application.

To activate the Process Runner DB license through the Manage License option,

1. Open Process Runner DB.
2. On the HELP tab, select Manage License. The License Activation dialog appears.
3. Perform the steps from 3 to 5 mentioned in Activate Process Runner DB License Through Splash Screen.

Activate Expired License by Extending Existing License Key

This section explains how to activate an expired Process Runner DB license by extending the existing Process Runner DB license.

To extend an existing Process Runner DB license key,

1. Open Process Runner DB.
2. On the license expiration window, select Manage License. The License Activation dialog appears.
3. Optionally, select the Change Lic. Info icon to edit the following information:
• Company Name
• Display Name

  Note: The License Key information remains the same when you extend your existing Process Runner DB license.

4. Confirm the license details and select Next.
5. Select the Confirm above information and activate product license checkbox and select Finish.
6. Select OK to extend the existing Process Runner DB license.

Activate Expired License by Changing or Activating a New License Key

This section explains how to activate a new Process Runner DB license key when the previous one expires.

To change or activate the new Process Runner DB license key,

1. Open Process Runner DB.
2. On the license expiration window, select Manage License. The License Activation dialog appears.
3. Select Change Lic.Info and edit the following license information:
• Company Name: Enter the name of your company.
• Display Name: Enter the name of the user.
• License Key: Enter the license key.
4. After you confirm the license details, select Next.
5. Select the Confirm above information and activate product license checkbox and select Finish.
6. Select OK to activate the new license key.

Offline License Activation

This section explains how to activate the Process Runner DB license offline.

To activate the Process Runner DB license offline,

1. Open Process Runner DB.
2. On the HELP tab, select Manage License. The License Activation dialog appears.
3. Select Activate Offline and select Change Lic. Info. icon to enter the following:
• Company Name: Enter the name of your company.
• Display Name: Enter the name of the user.
• License Key: Enter the license key.
4. Select Next. The Offline Activation dialog appears with the offline license activation steps.
5. Select OK. The Offline License Activation dialog appears.
6. Enter your details and upload the LicInfoToUpload.xml file, enter the displayed captcha, and select Submit. You will receive a license activation request notification to the email address that you provided. You will also receive an email with the Process Runner DB license and the installation steps.
7. Save the license on your system and perform the license installation steps explained in the email.

Manual License Activation

This section explains how to manually activate a Process Runner DB license.

To activate the Process Runner DB license manually,

1. Open Process Runner DB and select Help > About. The About dialog appears.

   Note: If your license is expired, when you start the Process Runner DB application, it directly opens on the About page.

2. Select Copy Info to copy the license information.
3. Paste the information in your email, and then send it to mag-innoweralicense@insightsoftware.

   Note: You will receive your license information within two US working days. After you get your license information, install the license on your system.

4. In the About dialog, load the license using the Load License option. .
