Configure EShare in insightsoftware (Innowera) Products
You can configure Process Runner, Process Runner DB, and Process Runner Excel Add-in to connect to an EShare instance by providing the EShare database connection information.
Innowera EShare can also be accessed as a web service and can be configured using the EShare URL.
Note: Configuring Innowera EShare using the web services is supported only for Process Runner and Process Runner DB.
To connect to an EShare instance,
- In the Innowera product, select Tools > Options > Enterprise Settings > EShare.
- Select Enable EShare. The options in the window are available.
- To import and use the existing EShare settings, perform the following:
- Select Import Configuration Details. The EShare Config file dialog box is displayed.
- Browse and select the
EShareConfig.icffile. The configuration information is automatically populated in the appropriate fields.
- To configure EShare using a web service or database connection, perform the following:
- In Connection Type, select Service Configuration or Database Configuration. The configuration-specific properties are displayed.
- If you select Service Configuration, in the URL box, enter the URL of the Innowera EShare instance. Then, under Service Setting, select one of the following, and test the connection.
- Use default: The default credentials are used to sign into Innowera EShare.
- User defined: The domain name and password that you specify in the respective fields are used to sign into Innowera EShare.
- If you select Database Configuration, under Database Setting, enter the following details, and test the connection:
- Database Server name or IP: Indicates the host name or IP address on which Innowera EShare is installed. Specify the port number if you are not using the default value of 1433 by including a comma after the IP address or host name. For example, specify 199.xx.yy.xxx, 11111.
- Database Name: Indicates the name of the Innowera EShare database.
- Authentication Mode: Indicates the authentication mode that must be used to connect to Innowera EShare. For SQL Server Authentication, user name and password are also required.
- To enable case-sensitive username comparison during the EShare Server login, select Case sensitive windows username comparison.
- Select Apply > OK. The Innowera EShare configuration details are saved.
