Parallel Thread Settings in Master Control

This option is used to define total no. of threads to be used simultaneously. The parallel threads are counted as those many SAP sessions. If there is one instance of Process Runner with 3 parallel processing threads, it is counted as 3 SAP session as far as Innowera Control Panel setting is concerned. Parallel option is available in Processes, SAP systems and Process Runner . Settings at all these levels will be considered and the minimum value will be effective.

Case 1: Max. Parallel thread setting as per Process

Maximum Parallel thread applied at following levels:

  • Process level = 2
  • SAP system level = Settings as per Process
  • Process Runner setting = 3
  • In this conditions, Process level settings and Process Runner settings will be compared and minimum value = 2 will be considered because Process level settings value is lesser than Process Runnerr setting.

Thread_process

If you have set value = 1 in Process Runner and have set value = 2 in Innowera Control Panel, then the minimum value set will be executed.

Case 2: Max. Parallel thread setting as per SAP System

Maximum Parallel thread applied at following levels:

  • Process level = 1
  • SAP system level = 2
  • Process Runner setting = 3
  • In this conditions, SAP system settings and Process Runner settings will be compared and minimum value = 2 will be considered because  SAP system level settings value is lesser than Process Runner setting. SAP System level setting will be considered as "Settings as set Below" is selected and not 'Settings as per process'.

SAP_thread

If you have set value = 3 in Process Runner and have set value = 4 in Innowera Control Panel, Parallel thread settings defined at SAP System level will not be considered. This setting allows maximum 3 parallel threads to be run simultaneously by default.

Case 3: Max SAP system session reached

Maximum Parallel thread applied at following levels:

  • SAP system level = 4
  • Process Runner setting = 3
  • Maximum number of SAP logon sessions allowed at any time at SAP System level = 2

In this condition, SAP system settings and Process Runner settings will be compared and minimum value = 3 will be considered because  Process Runner settings value is lesser than SAP System setting. But  as each thread is counted as a SAP session and maximum SAP logon session allowed= 2, the following message will be displayed to Process Runner user on run.

MaxSess

Note: If Data Governance rule is used and parallel thread is also applied, then error message is displayed similar to below figure on using Live Query, Database query with row level filter, Database query with stored procedure(with parameters) and Live query with range filtration.
