Configure Control Setting

Control Setting in Innowera Control Panel allows for validation of SAP technology, Group/User, Processes and SAP systems in Process Runner and Process Runner DB at global level.

Master Control Settings

Enable Group or User Control

When Enable group/user control is selected, Group Control and User Control is activated in Innowera Control Panel. When enabled, all group or user related activities in Process Runner are controlled as per settings in Innowera Control Panel. When disabled, all group or user level restrictions are disabled and all user group level validation in Process Runner are stopped. User are permitted to make modifications in 'User Groups', 'User level control', Assigned Process and Assigned SAP System in Innowera Control Panel. Therefore, all users can access all processes and SAP System in Process Runner.

Enable Process Control

When Enable process control is selected, process control is activated in Innowera Control Panel. When enabled, all process related activities in Process Runner are controlled as per settings in Innowera Control Panel. Disabling this option will result in deactivation of Process Level Control in Innowera Control Panel and stops all process level validation in Process Runner. Hence all users can execute any processes in Process Runner. This process level validation overrides Allowed or Blocked processes in Innowera Control Panel when Process Control option is disabled. Users are permitted to make modifications in Processes in Innowera Control Panel.

Enable SAP System Control

When Enable SAP system control is selected, SAP system control is activated in Innowera Control Panel. When enabled, all SAP system related activities in Process Runner are controlled as per settings in Innowera Control Panel. If this option is disabled, then SAP System level control is deactivated in IInnowera Control Panel and stops all SAP System level validation. Hence all users can execute any SAP System. This SAP System level validation overrides Allowed or Blocked SAP System in Innowera Control Panel when SAP System control option is disabled.

Enable Scheduler Control

When Enable scheduler control is selected, 'Scheduler control' is activated in Innowera Control Panel. If this option is disabled, then 'Scheduler control' is deactivated in Innowera Control Panel and stop all Scheduler level validations.

Enable Approval Control

When Enable approval control is selected, the Process Runner DB and Process Runner users are displayed a message that allows them to send approval requests for Process files or SAP systems for which they do not have access. The Assign and Ignore buttons on the Pending Approval page, the Approval Settings tab in Options > Other General Settings, and the pending approval list for a user on the Check Access Rights page are available only when the Enable approval control option is selected.

Technology Settings

Allow Transaction

When Allow Transaction is selected, Transaction technology is allowed at global level. The technology settings done at Master Controls (Group or User and SAP System) will be considered to allow or disallow user to work with Process files of type transaction technology based on the Technology Setting. The transaction technology setting should be allowed at both User or Group and SAP system for users to execute transactions in Process Runner.

When disabled, transaction technology is blocked at global level and user will not be allowed to execute any Process files of transaction technology. Technology settings done in Master Controls will be ignored i.e even if transaction technology setting is allowed at both User or Group and SAP system the user will still not be allowed to execute transaction Process files in Process Runner.

Allow BAPI/RFM

When Allow BAPI or RFM is selected, BAPI or RFM technology is allowed at global level. The technology settings done at Master Controls (Group/User and SAP System) will be considered to allow or disallow user to work with Process files of type BAPI/RFM technology based on the Technology Setting. The BAPI/RFM technology setting should be allowed at both User/Group and SAP system for users to execute BAPI/RFM in Process Runner.

When disabled, transaction technology is blocked at global level and user will not be allowed to execute any Process files of BAPI/RFM technology. Technology settings done in Master Controls will be ignored i.e even if BAPI/RFM technology setting is allowed at both User/Group and SAP system the user will still not be allowed to execute BAPI/RFM Process files in Process Runner.

Allow GUI Script

When Allow GUI Script is selected, GUI Scripting technology is allowed at global level. The technology settings done at Master Controls (Group/User and SAP System) will be considered to allow or disallow user to work with Process file of type GUI Scripting technology based on the Technology Setting. The GUI Script technology setting should be allowed at both User/Group and SAP system for users to execute GUI Scripts in Process Runner.

When disabled, GUI Scripting technology is blocked at global level and user will not be allowed to execute any Process file of GUI Script technology. Technology settings done in Master Controls will be ignored i.e even if GUI Script technology setting is allowed at both User/Group and SAP system the user will still not be allowed to execute GUI scripting Process files in Process Runner.

Allow Data Extractor

When Allow Data Extractor is selected, Data Extractor technology is allowed at global level. The technology settings done at Master Controls (Group/User and SAP System) will be considered to allow or disallow user to work with Process files of type Data Extractor technology based on the Technology Setting. The Data Extractor technology setting should be allowed at both User/Group and SAP system for users to execute Data Extractor in Process Runner.

When disabled, Data Extractor technology is blocked at global level and user will not be allowed to execute any Process files of Data Extractor technology. Technology settings done in Master Controls will be ignored i.e even if Data Extractor technology setting is allowed at both User/Group and SAP system the user will still not be allowed to execute Data Extractor Process files in Process Runner.

Note: To work with any technology, ensure that the setting for that technology is enabled at all levels - Control Setting (Global Level), Group/User level, SAP System Level. If setting is restricted/disabled at any level, user will not be allowed to execute Process file of that technology.

Note: Even when Allow BAPI/RFM is allowed at all levels, users will be able to work with RFM based on Allow Remote Function Module (RFCs ) option settings done at User Groups/Users and SAP Systems. BAPI is allowed to user all time.
