Save on EShare
This topic describes how to use the options in the EShare tab to save the Excel file on EShare, refresh files from EShare, and set file permissions. EShare provides the ability to store files on a managed and easy-to-access central location.
To save on EShare, refresh files, set file permissions,
- In Process Runner Excel Add-in, open the Excel file.
- Select Save on EShare. If the file is not an EShare file, you are prompted to enter the name, permission, and sharing type for the file. Sharing type can be set as Private or Shared.
If you have selected Process Runner Cloud on the Enterprise Settings > EShare tab, you get the additional options of :
- Category
- Shared With
- Global Tag(s)
- User Tag(s).
- To save the currently opened EShare file with different permissions, select the Save as on EShare option.
- To refresh the currently opened EShare file, select Refresh from EShare. If an editable file is changed, you are prompted to save the changes.
- To set the sharing type, select File Permission, and Private or Shared.
Share Eshare Files
This sections explains how to share the files your are uploading/saving in Eshare with other users or user groups in Control Panel.
To share the Eshare file,
- Select Save on Eshare > File Permission > Shared.
- In the Shared section, from the options, select one of the following options:

Share with users: To share files with specified users with permissions.
- Read Only shared with: Select the users from the list to share the file with Read Only permission.
- Read / Write shared with: Select the users from the list to share the file with Read / Write permission.

Share with groups: To share files with the groups in Control Panel.
- Read Only shared with: Select the groups from the list to share the file with Read Only permission.
- Read / Write shared with: Select the groups from the list to share the file with Read / Write permission.
Note:
- If a user belongs to more than one group that has access to the file, they receive the highest permission level granted across those groups. For example, if one group has Read Only access and another has Read/Write access, that user receives Read/Write access.
- A user's EShare role permissions always override group sharing permissions. If a user's role does not allow access to a file, they cannot access it even if the file is shared with their group
- A file owner can always edit the file, even if their group is set to Read Only.
- Inactive users cannot access the file, even if they are members of a group with sharing permission.
