Configure Central Settings

This feature helps you to centrally pass the global setting for each user of product from Innowera Control Panel. Central Settings are centrally configured in Innowera Control Panel and consumed by product application following actions are performed open or record process file. Control Panel allow you to centrally manage, store and distribute various global settings that you can apply to each Process Runner user’s.

Normally Process Runner global settings load settings from local user registry. Central setting help user to set Tools > Options and iNETConnector settings.

How to Configure Transaction Settings

Roles Description

Do not apply

The settings will not be applied in product Options.

Apply and do not allow user to change

Settings will be applied in product Options but user cannot modify the transaction settings.

Apply and allow user to change

Setting will be applied in product Options but user can modify the transaction settings.

Below are the generic steps to specifying the restrictions:

  1. Open Innowera Control PanelAdvanced Tools and select Central Settings.
  2. Select Add to create new central settings and enter Central Settings Name in text-box.
  3. Select the restricted rule from the Transaction Settings drop-down box and configure the required changes.
  4. Select Activate & Save.
  5. Note: Once the central setting is created, ensure to activate the settings, as they will not get applied if the status remains inactive.

  6. The created central settings will be activated successfully.
Color Indication Description

Denotes that the central setting is activate.

Denotes that the central setting is been revised and needs to be activated.

Denotes that the central setting is Inactive.

  1. Now expand Master Controls on left pane and select Users.
  2. Select the user you wants assign the central setting.
  3. Scroll-down to Central Setting section, enable the central setting and assign the created rule to the user.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Now launch Process Runner and switch to Tools -> Option -> Transaction tab.

Now the authorization is set up for the corresponding user. Refer the image to see the changes reflected in Process Runner:

If the instance is open and the changes/modification is done in Innowera Control Panel and same are been activated, then the changes will be applied only when the user performs following action run, open or record process file.

Let's modify the transaction settings and assign it to same user.

  1. Select the central setting which needs to be modify and select Edit.
  2. Select the other restricted rule from the Transaction Settings drop-down box.
  3. Select Activate & Save.
  4. The settings will be activated successfully.
  5. The revised settings will now be applied to the user assigned to this central setting.
  6. Now go to Product instance and switch to Tools -> Option -> Transaction tab.
  7. Modification is done and applied successfully.

How to Configure Excel Settings

To configure Excel settings in Innowera Control Panel and implement them to Process Runner Options.

  1. Open Innowera Control Panel, expand Advanced Tools and select Central Settings.
  2. Select Add to create new central settings.
  3. Enter Central Settings Name in text-box and switch to Excel tab.
  4. Select the restricted rule from the Excel Settings drop-down box.
  5. Select Disable iBook (internal Excel book) functionality.

    Note: Disable iBook functionality is handled through Innowera license, if any changes are made here, it will overwrite the Innowera license functionality.

    Note: If this functionality is disabled, iBook tab and selection of iBook will be disabled.

  6. Select Activate & Save.
  7. The central settings will be activated successfully.
  8. Now expand Master Controls from left pane and select Users.
  9. Select Edit icon for the user you want to assign the central settings.

  1. Scroll-down to Central Settings section.
  1. Select As per Below > make selection to Enable Central Settings and select the central setting which you want to assign for selected user.
  2. Select Save.
  3. Now go to Process Runner instance and switch to Tools -> Options -> Excel tab.
  4. Now the authorization is set up for the corresponding user. Refer the image to see the changes reflected in Process Runner:

  5. You can also check your license flag from Help > About. The values which are centrally applied in Innowera Control Panel, will overwrite the existing license flag.

How to Configure Enterprise Settings

Enterprise Settings in Innowera Control Panel is available for those users who have Innowera license to use EShare and Innowera Dashboard.

EShare and Innowera Dashboard allows you to configure database settings globally and centrally apply to user's.

  1. Open Innowera Control Panel, expand Advanced Tools and select Global Central Settings.
  2. In EShare tab, select Add and enter the EShare details in text-box.

  3. Now switch to Innowera Dashboard tab, select Add and enter the Innowera Dashboard details in text-box.

  4. Select Test and Save.
  5. Expand Advanced Tools and select Central Settings from left panel.
  6. Select Edit icon for the user you want to assign the central settings.
  7. Select Enterprise Settings tab, select the restricted rule for both EShare and Innowera Dashboard.
  8. Point them to Connection Name created in Global Central Settings.

  9. Select Activate & Save.
  10. Now go to Process Runner instance and perform any action such as run, open or record process file.
  11. Central settings restriction pop-up will appear, you need to restart the Process Runner to reflect the changes which are centrally applied to current user.

  12. Now the authorization is set up for the corresponding user. Refer the image to see the changes reflected in Process Runner:

How to Configure License Settings

  1. In Central Settings window, select Add and enter Central Settings Name in text-box.
  2. Switch to License tab.

    Note: Open file location and save file location functionality is handled through Innowera license, if any changes are made here, it will overwrite the Innowera license functionality.

    Refer the following table to know the effect of given options:

    Process File Settings

    Open File Location

    Once enabled, user will be allowed to open process file location selected from drop-down menu. This setting overwrites the existing permissions that pertains to open any process file in Process Runner License.

    Save File Location

    Allows user to save process file on selected location. This setting overwrites the existing permissions that pertains to open any process file in Process Runner License.

    Excel Add-in File Settings

    Open Excel Add-in File Location

    Once enabled, user will be allowed to open Excel Add-in file from the selected location. This setting overwrites the existing permissions that pertains to open any Excel Add-in file in Process Runner Excel Add-in License.

    Save Excel Add-in File Location

    Allows user to save Excel Add-in file on selected location. This setting overwrites the existing permissions that pertains to open any process file in Process Runner License.

    Roles Values Description

    This flag will allow to access and Open Process file from specific location 1 = Local Drive, 2 = Network Drive, 3 = EShare, 5 = Innowera Cloud.

    PFILESAVELOCATIONTYPE

    1,2,3

    This flag will allow to save Process file from specific location 1 = Local Drives, 2 = Network Drives, 3 = Eshare.

  3. Select Activate & Save.
  4. Now go to Process Runner instance and perform any action such as run, open or record process file.
  5. Central settings restriction pop-up will appear, you need to restart the Process Runner to reflect the changes which are centrally applied to current user.
  6. Now the authorization is set up for the corresponding user.

  7. You can also check your license flag from Help > About. The values which are centrally applied in Innowera Control Panel, will overwrite the existing Innowera license flag.

How to Configure iNETConnector Settings

Export iNETConnector settings from Process Runner and Import those settings into the Innowera Control Panel to assign all this setting to multiple users centrally through Innowera Control Panel. Using Export functionality, you can export all the iNETConnector settings of single/multiple SAP system from Process Runner and import those settings to Innowera Control Panel using .icf configuration file. Export SAP system configuration is allowed only from Home > SAP Shortcuts. Once imported to Innowera Control Panel, you can apply all those settings centrally to a user or group.

To configure and export the Innowera Connector for SAP settings,

  1. Open Process Runner, select SAP Shortcuts from Home group and select Server/Group Tab.
  2. In Server/Group tab, select the SAP system and select Properties to make required changes.

  3. Once the changes are been made, select all the SAP system for which you want to export the configurations. You can press CTRL and select multiple SAP systems randomly or you can also press Shift and select SAP system in bulk to export the configurations of all those SAP systems.

  4. Select Export.
  5. Export System SAP Configuration dialog box appears, select the path to save .icf configuration file and select Generate File/Append File.

    Options Description

    Generate File

    Selecting this will overwrite the configuration file if .icf file is already existed with same name.

    Append File

    Selecting this will add the settings to the end of existing file settings.

  6. Configuration file will export successfully.
  7. Open Innowera Control Panel, expand Advanced Tools and select Central Settings.
  8. Select Add to create new central settings.

  9. Enter Central Settings Name in text-box and switch to iNETConnector tab.
  10. Select Import and select the .icf configuration file to import the iNETConnector settings.
  11. Make selection to iNetConnector and select Import.

  12. List of configuration file keys will be displayed in the grid below.
  13. Note: You can select edit icon to change the value for current central setting.

  14. Select Activate & Save.
  15. Now expand Master Control and select Users.
  16. Select Edit icon for the user you want to assign the central settings.

  17. Scroll-down to Central Setting section.
  18. Select As per Below > make selection to Enable Central Settings and select the central setting that you want to assign for selected user.

  19. Select Save.
  20. The changes made to the configuration file will be reflected on the Process Runner instance once the user performs following action run, open or record process file.

    Note: The changes will reflect only if the same SAP system is available on instance where the settings are imported.
