Manage Easy Workflow Service
The Easy Workflow Service(s) window displays information, such as the names of the servers, path of the log files generated on these servers, primary and secondary services, and the status of the services running on these servers.
The primary service is responsible for tasks such as sending email notifications, reassigning workflow items, auto check-in file jobs, running of auto tasks, and sending reminder mails. If the primary service stops, any one of the secondary services is automatically promoted as the primary service within the time specified in the Switch time for secondary service for load balancing option in the Miscellaneous window.

View Easy Workflow Service Details
This topic describes the tasks that you can perform in the Easy Workflow Service(s) window.
To view the Easy Workflow service details,
- In Easy Workflow Cockpit, select Service > Service. The Easy Workflow Service(s) window is displayed.
- To refresh the list of services, select Refresh.
- To delete a service, select the service, and then select Delete. If you delete a service that is running, the service is generated again automatically. To delete a running service, you must stop the service first, and then delete it.
- To view the status of the services, select Service Status. The Easy Workflow Service Status window is displayed.

To close any orphan instance of Microsoft Excel, select Excel Instance Status From Server. The IEWF Service Server "<ComputerNameWherePrimaryServiceInstalled>" Excel Instance Status window is displayed with information about the orphaned Excel instances. Perform the following steps:
- Select the Excel instance that you want to close and select Kill Excel Instance.
- Select Refresh. The list of orphaned Excel instances is refreshed.
- To see the list of service logs in Easy Workflow, select Service Log. The Service Log window is displayed.
- To select a service as a primary service, select Set as Primary Service option.
View Easy Workflow Service Status
This topic describes the tasks that you can perform in the Easy Workflow Service Status window, which displays the status of all the services installed on all the computers. It also displays the path of the log files generated on server running the service.
To view the service history, stop the service, export to Excel, configure settings,
- In Easy Workflow Cockpit, select Service > Service Status. The Easy Workflow Service Status window is displayed.
- To stop the automatic refresh of the list of services, select Stop Auto Refresh.
Note: The list of services is automatically refreshed according to the duration specified in Setting > Refresh after every box.

To view the history of the selected service, select Current Service History. The Easy Workflow Service History - <NameOfService><ProcessIDEasyWorkflowJobInstance> window is displayed.
- To view the history of all the services, select All Service History. The Easy Workflow Service History - (ALL) window is displayed.
- To stop the service when you notice an unusual behavior of service, such as the service consuming excessive amount of resources, taking a long time to complete, or if the service is stuck in any task, select one of the following options in Kill the Service:
- Soft Kill: Indicates that the service is stopped after the completion of the task that is being run. The service is restarted with a new service Process ID (PID) and the same task is continued. For example, if the memory consumed by the instance reaches 1 GB, you can use this option to stop the instance and a new instance is then be launched.
- Hard Kill: Indicates that the service is stopped instantly even if a task is being run. The service is restarted with a new Service PID and the same task is continued.
- To export the service logs that are displayed in the grid, select Export To Excel, and select the location where the file must be exported to, on the local computer. The
EasyWorkflowServiceData.xlsfile is exported into an Excel workbook. -
To set the time duration after which a task must be considered critical or the time duration for automatic refresh, select Setting, and set the duration for the task in the Setting window as follows:
- Exceed Estimated Time +: Indicates the time after which the task is considered critical.

Refresh After Every: Indicates the time after which the services are refreshed.
View, Filter, Export Service Logs
This topic describes the tasks that you can perform in the Service Log window.
To view, filter, and export service logs,
- In Easy Workflow Cockpit, select Service > Service Log. The Service Log window is displayed with the following details:
- Log Type: Displays the type of the log.
- Entry Date: Displays the date and time when the task was started or completed or when an exception occurred.
- Computer Name: Displays the name of the computer on which the Easy Workflow service is running that handled the task.
- Task Name: Displays the type of task performed by the Easy Workflow service such as auto checkin, auto-reminder task, email, autorun, and mail job.
- Session ID: Displays the session ID for the tasks in Easy Workflow service.
- Service Message: Displays the messages for any exceptions or errors that occurred when the Easy Workflow service was running the task.
- Total Records: Displays the count of records for a specific task in service log.
- Service Type: Displays Main to indicate that the primary service is used and Subordinate to indicate that secondary service switched for load balancing when the primary service stopped.
- Process ID: Displays the process ID.
- File ID: Displays the file ID.
- To view only the error records, select Show Only Errors. Select Show Only Errors again to view all the service log records.
- To filter the records based on date, select Filter. The logs are displayed based on the date filter selected. The following information is displayed in the logs:
- Service Type: Indicates if the log was generated by Main (primary) or Subordinate (secondary) service.
- Total Records: Indicates the number of records that were processed by the task.
- To export the service logs that are displayed in the grid, select Export To Excel, and select the location where the file must be exported to, on the local computer. The
EasyWorkflowService_log.xlsfile is exported into an Excel workbook.
