Example of Working of SharePoint Workflow Engine

To configure SharePoint workflow engine,

1. Go to Engine Settings and select SharePoint Workflow engine.
2. Select the SharePoint Workflow and select Generate XML.
3. The email notification received from SharePoint workflow for the item created under list contains the SharePoint Workflow engine email template which was defined in the email notification while configuring workflow. Refer the SharePoint Designer Workflow Steps section for information about the steps involved from creating to publishing a workflow and defining email notifications with the Email Runner SharePoint Workflow email template in the email body.

   

   

   The mail is forwarded to the email configured in the workflow for further processing of workflow item.

4. Reply to the mail with valid keywords defined in Keyword Settings. The email to whom it has been addressed should be configured in the Incoming email address list of Email Runner. Based on the approve/reject/ignore action taken based on the keywords, the results are updated on SharePoint for the particular task.

   

5. The entry is also seen in the email log of Email Runner.
